He is the former President of the Press Commission of the Basketball Zone II, Vice-President of the Press Commission of the Mauritanian National Olympic and Sports Committee, and first Vice-President of the West African Journalist Collective for Democracy (COPAD). Foily Samba has covered many international events, such as the African Junior Cups, the 2005 5th Edition of the Francophonie Games, the 2005 Zone II Games in Mali, and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, among other events.
