Libya at the crossroads

Libya has several specific characteristics. Everyone knows that the ruling regime in the Libyan Jamahiriya is unique…

Gaddafi defines his regime as a republic, governed directly by the populace through the People’s Committees.

Since the beginning of the uprising of Libyan protesters, many observers from neighboring countries and other parts of the world have been following the developments of the situation in Libya, and raising many embarrassing, unanswerable questions…

Why?

Because the mission, power-sharing, authority and roles of the government bodies are not clear…

For instance, the latest development in Libya is the split within the armed forces. Some military and security forces are pro-Gaddafi’s regime, while others joined the protest movement. The news confirmed that the armed forces joined the protesters in southern and eastern Libya, particularly in the large city of Benghazi.

Many observers who are familiar with Libyan society, especially its tribes, believe that the division of the armed forces could pose significant risks and evolve to the outbreak of a civil or tribal war that can turn into a real carnage…

This means that the tribal strife – that the Libyan regime had successfully reduced and contained – can emerge anew…

In this case, the Libyan territorial integrity will obviously be exposed to serious dangers. Such a development can have a negative impact on the future of Libya, as well as neighboring countries.

It comes down to the question of: what will happen to the Libyan Jamahiriya if the conflict escalates between its regions and tribes? Is Libya facing the threat of division? What if the news about Derna becoming an Islamic emirate is true? How will things evolve within the tribes located on the Libyan-Egyptian borders? Also, how will oil wealth be distributed in the future if division persists within the Libyan armed forces?

Libya can’t be divided, because it consists of integrated and interconnected tribes…

Sir, it seems that you fell into Gaddafi’s trap, “divide and rule”. The tribes have always existed. Before, after and during the dictatorship, Libya has always been united thanks to its history, religion, language, geography…… and above all, future.

I pray to God in order to precipitate the death of Kadhafi before Libya gets divided into eastern and western sides, and I pray God for victory before problems occur between the Libyan tribes because Libya is in a serious situation, injuries and death among people is proof that there are major catastrophes predicted between cities and tribes, now that the eastern region is fighting the western region and vice versa, between the western region which is fighting at the same time the eastern region. This makes the projected fears rise now from the problems between the tribes as a result of the death of many people and this is what shall lead, God forbid, to the division within Libya and it shall become two separate countries. There are many problems in Libya that might lead to this division, which is a serious indication. Five months spent during this war and until the fall of this dominant regime, how many people are gone missing, killed or became homeless, how many houses got destructed, how many people became incapable of walking? These are valid reasons for a civil war to break out between tribes, which will soon lead to the division of Libya into two countries. Also there are other reasons, are NATO and other countries helping the rebels without having anything to take in return, any goal in Libya, isn’t Libya now the center of attention for the whole world. I pray God to grant us the triumph and to take the life of the tyrant.

No partition in Libya and if the sheiks and ministers partition it then we will seek new revolutions because we are not going to doubt that Libya is free and united and that Tripoli is it’s eternal capital
